It was about 2 pm Sunday when a massive warm front moved in and the barometer dropped and I knew the fishing was about to get good. The first follow came on a Bulldog. The fish followed to the boat then turned and disappeared. The next cast I did not see a follow and was ready to pull the bulldog out of the water when the fish attacked it from under the boat but it missed it and swam away never to be seen again. She was about 42 inches.
It was 5pm, I was burning my bucktail when I felt a thud on the end of my line. I set the hook and the fight was on. She came to the surface a few times but I kept her head down and she made some really good runs but I managed to get her to boat side and in the net. She was 46” and, I’m guessing, around 22 to 24lbs. What a blast.
